Ivana Scharf was delighted to give a keynote speech at this year’s KulturInvest!-Kongress 2020 DIGITAL about outreach as a way to more diversity in cultural institutions and to discuss the necessity and possibilities of outreach with Esme Ward, director of Manchester Museum, Winfried Hanuschik, director of Crescendo and Auli Eberle, arts education at Nikolaisaal Potsdam. Especially in this year 2020 it became more than clear that outreach is a leadership task. Ivana Scharf shares her conclusion after more than 15 years of experience with outreach: “If outreach is lived at the core of the organisational culture, as a conscious, strategic decision, the sustainable opening of the cultural institution can be achieved through an effective transformation.” Please find the English version starting on page 17.
